Job description
We are seeking a highly analytical and experienced Chief Accountant to lead our accounting team. In this critical role, you will oversee financial and tax reporting, drive process improvement and ensure the integrity of financial data. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a strong foundation in local tax legislation.
Requirements
- Oversee and manage all aspects of daily accounting and bookkeeping operations, ensuring accuracy and adherence to financial standards.
- Calculate, prepare, and file all corporate tax returns and statutory reports in strict compliance with local regulatory requirements.
- Perform regular and rigorous reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts to maintain financial integrity.
- Manage and review the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring accurate and timely disbursements and tax withholdings.
- Serve as the primary internal consultant for cross-functional departments regarding tax implications, process improvements, and adherence to local financial legislation.
- Act as a key financial advisor to executive management, providing timely, accurate, and actionable responses to complex accounting inquiries.
- Act as the lead expert and primary liaison managing the external audit process, ensuring thorough preparation, seamless execution, and full compliance with audit standards.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of international legislation and international tax regulations.
Responsibilities
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance.
- A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in the accounting field.
- An Expert Accountant certificate is mandatory. Additional professional qualifications are considered a strong plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
