## The share that reaches you: the three cliffs

Income tax and the pension contribution grow smoothly with pay, but stamp duty and health insurance jump at three thresholds: +4 800 ֏ above 200 000 ֏, +6 000 ֏ above 500 000 ֏, +14 000 ֏ above 1 000 000 ֏. Earning just past one can leave you with less than earning just below it.

## Questions about the calculator

Choose “Add offer B” and enter the second offer as it was quoted, gross or net. The calculator brings both to take-home pay and shows the difference per month and per year.

Some deductions jump at fixed thresholds (see the chart), so the same net can come from two different grosses. The calculator shows the smaller one, which is what both sides of a negotiation mean, and names the other.

The calculator shows a steady monthly salary from one employer. In 2026, health insurance also depends on your recent pay: it is first withheld the month after your salary at an employer passes 200 000 ֏, and it keeps being withheld for 12 months after the last such month, even if your salary drops. With two jobs, each employer withholds stamp duty and health insurance on the salary it pays.
