In today's world, companies are under constant pressure to stay competitive. Some try to attract talent with tempting offers or use AI tools to fill the gap, while others try to turn the employee who simply carries out tasks into a proactive employee who creates value.

But what if I told you that the real winners will be the companies that, without fearing they will lose their people, uncover and develop the potential of the talent they already have and grow value-creating employees? The shift from task doer to value creator is not just professional growth; it is a fundamental rethinking of the relationship between employee and organization.

Turning employees into high-value contributors is considered a sustainable approach to long-term success.

Value is not only skill and efficiency. It is a combination of a deep sense of belonging, a strong culture, involvement in solving problems and genuine commitment to success.

To solve this problem in my own work, I studied not only the business strategy and goals but also the psychology of change management: in the task doer's mindset, completing tasks matters more than creating value.

Here are two of the steps I applied:

- Working with psychologists to provide behavioral resources such as sparking curiosity, encouraging initiative, and understanding one's own and colleagues' reactions to stress.
- A simple, well-designed career map that serves as a roadmap, helping people see clearly how both vertical and horizontal growth work in the company.

The career map should match both the business goals and personal aspirations. When employees make decisions, they will not only be engaged and feel a sense of ownership; resistance will also go down and inspiration will go up.

## But How Do You Develop Proactive Employees in Practice?

### 1. Uncovering potential

- Regular conversations with employees
- Drawing up individual development plans
- Skills mapping
- Identifying strengths

### 2. Training and development

- Introducing mentoring programs
- Access to courses
- Involvement in hands-on projects

### 3. Creating a learning culture

- Sharing experience
- Encouraging innovative ideas
- Building a culture of learning from mistakes
- Providing a team learning environment

### 4. Recognition and rewards

- Recognizing initiative
- Celebrating successes

By making this kind of investment, organizations not only improve their revenue but also create a more rewarding work experience and drive the growth of both their team members and their projects, fostering sustainable competitiveness in an increasingly complex business world.
Remember: every value-creating employee started out as a task doer.

The question here is not whether your employees have the potential to create exceptional value, but how much your organization helps them uncover that potential. Are you ready to uncover your team's potential?

In today's job market, success is determined not only by performance but also by a creative, value-creating approach.
